SANDRA TURTLE ART

A Bit About Me
I am an artist… I live life in color and have always been drawn to unlikely beauty, from rusted garden tools to how paper crumples inside my hand. At nearly 80 years old I am still learning and playing with my paints daily, it keeps me sane.
It seems I am artistically drawn to bold statements and color.
I revel in using discards and found objects as my secret treasures. I live to find beauty in items that others do not see.
To be able to take this idea and combine it with a desire to have color leap off the canvas in 3-dimensional brilliant hues is the concept that evolved in my first collection
“Sense of Touch.”

In my second exhibit, I use the found and reclaimed even more. Their stories of color and dimension have become real and the contrasts of textural concealment and bold pigment have wonderful hidden pull of opposites.
"Sense of Form"
In my newest collection, it is notable the change in my work as I had the gift of time (elderly retirement!) to hone my skills and study new techniques.
"Sense of Hue"
I will continue to paint without reserve and obsess with a vengeance about the exquisiteness of the overlooked.
